Referee Mike Dean celebrates wildly once again as Tranmere win League Two play-off final

Mike Dean had no intention of hiding his elation as Tranmere were promoted to League One on Saturday.

The Premier League referee, a lifelong fan of the Rovers, was seen celebrating in the stands once again, after previously being spotted during the semi-final against Forest Green.

At Wembley, Connor Jennings scored in the final 90 seconds of extra time to earn Tranmere a 1-0 victory against ten-man Newport.

The final was heading to penalties after a scrappy game of few chances, but Jennings headed home to break the deadlock and send Rovers back to the third tier for the first time since 2014.

With the Premier League season over, Dean was able to enjoy his day out as his side secured back-to-back promotions.

Premier League referee Dean is an avid Tranmere fan and went viral on social media for his celebrations when they reached the final.

He was spotted on TV punching the air at the final whistle in the second leg of their semi-final against Forest Green.

A video posted on social media shows several Tranmere fans in good spirits on a coach heading to Wembley while wearing Mike Dean masks.

Rovers are aiming for back-to-back promotions, having gone up through the National League play-offs last season and will face Newport County at Wembley on Saturday.
